Dr Guy Morrow – Artistic Advisor
Dr Guy Morrow, as artistic director, is a leading international musician, educator and scholar. He teaches popular music (guitar), music rhythm, music business and media at the music and media department at Macquarie University.
Dr Guy is an accomplished guitarist. He has performed during educational workshops and seminars at the Sydney Opera House, at RMIT Design Hub in Melbourne and also in Campinas (Brazil) and Hanover (Germany).
As the artistic director in the Centre, Dr Guy teaches guitar and drum and helps teachers to better teach students.
Dr John Fangjun Lee – Music Director
Dr John Fangjun Li, as Music Director of the Centre, is an internationally active piano and music theory teacher and scholar and he was piano teacher at Wuhan Conservatory of Music and professor at China Conservatory of Music and Beijing Academy of Contemporary Music.
He obtained a PhD in music from Macquarie University in 2014, two master’s degrees in music respectively from the Australian Institute of Music in 2002 and Shanghai Conservatory of Music/Wuhan Conservatory of Music in 1996, and a Bachelor’s degree in music from Wuhan Conservatory of Music in 1992.
He is a full membership with the Music Teachers’ Association (MTA) of NSW and a registered piano and music theory teacher in piano and music theory with the Australian Music Examinations Broad (AMEB). His piano and music theory teaching is accredited by the MTA. He is also a piano examiner with the Piano Grade Examination Broad of China Conservatory of Music and piano examination director of the Arts Grade Examination Broad of China’s Association of Popular Music.
Dr Lee has accumulated a wealthy experience of music teaching not only in professional music colleges and/or universities (e.g. China Conservatory of Music, Wuhan Conservatory of Music and Beijing Academy of Contemporary Music, Southern Cross University and Macquarie University), but also in private teaching institutions (e.g. Aria Music School, Australian International College of Arts, Power Beat Music School). He teaches piano performance, music theory/musicianship/music craft, Chinese traditional and ancient music cultures, music business/industries.
Dr Lee has 25 years of experience in private piano and music theory/musicianship/music craft teaching both in Australia and China. His students obtained excellent achievements; amongst, there are more than 15 students to take AMEB practical exams each year that more than 90 percent of students obtain the result of B+ or above, meanwhile some of them were accepted by Australian music colleges and/or won prizes in piano competitions.
Dr Lee has rich experiences in teaching piano, as well as Dizi (Chinese flute) and singing in public and private education institutions both in Australia and China

All our teachers have professional performance & teaching qualifications (e.g. Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Australian Institute of Music, Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Central Conservator of Music, University of New South Wales) and rich experiences in preparing students for exams & competitions (eg: AMEB, ABRSM, Tringity, HSC, Scholarship). All our teachers and instructors are selected by our management team.
Catalin Ungureau — Violin Teacher
Catalin is a very famous violin musician and an experienced teacher. He toured extensively around Europe with the Moldova Philharmonic Orchestra. Catalin was also 2nd prize winner in the Golden Lyra Award, Romania and in Usti nad Orlici, Czechoslovakia and was awarded the Special Prize for his performance in Subiaco, Italy. He has been a member of La Camerata Chamber Orchestra and since 2003, a full-time member of the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra.
Lyoko Myers — Flute Teacher
Lyoko has 19 years of Flute teaching experience. She teaches students from the beginners’ level to the university level. She has already obtained a Bachelor of Music degree and several Post-Graduate Music Diploma degrees. She is the 4th Flute player and the 2nd Piccolo player of the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra. She was also invited to a variety of events, including tutoring at the Brisbane State High School.
Owen Chai — Cello Teacher
Owen obtained his AMusA in Cello at a young age. He is our responsible and friendly Cello teacher who has experience in teaching Cello. He also has a great amount of experience in performing at variable events. He is a native English speaker and is also able to speak Mandarin and Cantonese.
Victor Bian — Piano Teacher
Victor is one of our piano teachers who has obtained an AMEB Grade 8 qualification and a AMEB Grade 4 Theory with honours. He has been teaching Piano at Dr Lee Music School since 2016. He is experienced in performing in events and was one of the guest performers of the Australia-China International Youth Art Festival. He is passionate in Piano. He is an English native speaker who is also capable of conversational level Mandarin speaking and interpreting.
Yao Xiao — Piano Teacher
Yao is a piano tutor who has variable teaching experiences. She has been teaching Piano at Dr Lee Music School since 2016. She has obtained an AMEB Grade 8 qualification and a AMEB Grade 4 Theory with High Distinction. She is nice and patient. In addition, she can speak fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
